SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE, BUT DOORS LOCKED TO THE PUBLIC.

During these challenging times we wanted you to be aware of the changes that Lake Babine Nation is making to our usual operations in order to protect the health and safety of LBN citizens and staff.

PLEASE CALL THE RECEPTIONIST(S) TO ARRANGE FOR AN APPOINTMENT:

  • Social Development: 250-692-4740

Given the evolving nature of the pandemic, we will continue to update you regularly by regarding our services and other information of relevance to our Nation’s citizenship.

We regret the inconvenience that these changes cause and thank you very much for your understanding and patience.

Public Announcement

During these challenging times we wanted you to be aware of the changes that Lake Babine Nation is making to our usual operations in order to protect the health and safety of LBN citizens and staff.

  1. Effective immediately and until further notice, ALL public events are cancelled including: Meetings, Workshops / Conferences / bingos / dances
  2. Effective immediately and until further notice, ALL LBN events including workshops, meetings, are being cancelled, postponed or, moved to a virtual format.
  3. In addition, for the time being, LBN is ceasing all staff travel for work purposes, except for internal travel between LBN communities.
  4. Office will NOT be closed, but doors locked to the public; citizens will be encouraged to call the office for services and arrangements will be made on delivery of those services;
  5. Housing department will only be providing EMERGENCY services;
  6. Social Assistance clients will need to complete Yearly Application Renewals / Declarations this week; please make APPOINTMENTS with Social Development Receptionist at 250-692-4740;
  7. Purchase orders for Social Assistance will be honored (based on requests) up to and including Friday, March 20th;
  8. Employees / citizens returning from Vancouver, B.C. or any highly affected areas are encouraged to self-isolate for 14 days;
  9. Wash hands for 20 seconds and do not touch face;
  10. Clean and disinfect surfaces;
  11. No physical contact (practice social distancing) and remain 2 meters away from each other;
  12. If exhibiting the following symptoms: cough, fever, shortness of breath – CALL your Doctor as soon as possible.

Given the evolving nature of the pandemic, we will continue to update you regularly by regarding our services and other information of relevance to our Nation’s citizenship.

These are preventative measures; therefore, all citizens MUST do their part to prevent the COVID 19 virus from coming into our communities.  We have many citizens that have compromised health, so we do need to ensure health & well-being of everyone.
