This link will take you to the Lake Babine Nation Financial By-Law which was approved by Chief and Council in December 16, 2002.
LBN Finance & Administration Department:
Lake Babine Nation operates a wide variety of programs. Annual revenues and expenditures exceed $16 million. Council has taken several steps to ensure that finances are well managed. One key step was to set up a Finance Committee and because LBN is currently under Remedial Management Plan – follow the RMP budgets, ensure quarterly financial statements are submitted to INAC, and to develop and implement a set of comprehensive Financial Policies.
Our fiscal year is from April 01 to March 31. LBN is on year four of a five year block funding agreement with INAC. Every year a firm of Chartered Accountants audits the Nation’s financial statements. The audited financial statements are roughly 100 pages in length. Once we have our website updated, members can access and view the statements from the site.
The audited financial statements for the most recent year may also be available on the Indian and Northern Affairs Canada website.
There have been some changes in staffing within the Finance Department. As of August 25, our staff consists of the following:
Evelyn Netmaker, B. Comm | Financial Controller |
