CHECK POINT SECURITY:
Lake Babine Nation is working diligently to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the situation evolving quickly and we are taking the proper precautions to keep our community safe.
There will be checkpoints arranged within each community at the following locations:
- Woyenne
- 2 Security – Centre Street
- Please note: 10th Avenue will be blocked off to all traffic.
- 2 Security – Babine Road
- 2 Monitors Patrolling throughout the community.
- 2 Security – Centre Street
- Tachet
- 2 Security – Eagles Landing Gas Bar
- Fort Babine
- 2 Security – Near bridge
- Once the check points are in effect, there will not be any visitors allowed on the reserve. They will be asked to leave the premises.
- All non-members that are residing on the reserve need to be identified and proof of address must be provided.
- Essential visitors must pass important screening criteria prior to entering the community.
(example: Off Reserve LBN Members, LBN Staff, Safehouse, Contractors, etc.)
SOCIAL DISTANCING:
We can slow the spread of COVID-19 by making a conscious effort to keep physical distance between one another. You will have to make changes to your everyday routines in order to minimize close contact with others, including:
- Avoiding crowds and non-essential gatherings.
(example: Hanging out at the gas bar, attending social gatherings, etc.) - Avoid common greetings, such as handshakes or any physical touch.
- Limiting contact with people at higher risk
(eg. Elders, Children, those with limited health such as diabetes, heart/lung problems) - No more than 10 people per household.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- Use caution when visiting grocery stores, pharmacies or any essential services.
- Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. Use alcohol-based sanitizers if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your face
- Avoid common areas, touching surfaces and clothing.
