Wildfire Reporting Information for Lake Babine Nation Members

Lake Babine Nation encourages all members to report wildfires as soon as they are discovered. Early reporting helps emergency crews respond quickly and can prevent small fires from becoming much larger incidents.

To report a wildfire:

When reporting a wildfire, be prepared to provide:
•Your location (nearest road, community, lake, landmark, or GPS coordinates if available)
•The estimated size of the fire
•What is burning (grass, brush, trees, structures, etc.)
•Whether flames are visible and the colour of the smoke
•The direction the fire is moving, if known
•Whether homes, cabins, people, or infrastructure appear to be at risk

If it is safe to do so, you may also submit a photo through the BC Wildfire Service App to assist responding crews. Do not put yourself at risk to get a better view of the fire.

Members are also encouraged to report unattended campfires, illegal open burning, or any unsafe activities that could cause wildfire.
