Lake Babine Nation Human Resources Strategy

Lake Babine Nation is conducting a labour force survey to understand where members are currently at with respect to education, employment, earnings, and skill levels. This will support LBN in identifying economic areas for growth and prioritizing areas for training, education and support for members.
Members aged 15 and older, wherever they live, are asked to fill out the survey. The survey is confidential and takes 20-30 minutes. Community members have been hired to reach out to everyone to complete the survey.
You will be asked about:
- your current age and status (in school, employed, retired)
- the types of education and training (informal and formal), and skills (language, cultural skills, office skills, reading) you have
- your opinion on the types of support you think LBN can offer to its members
- barriers to achieving your goals
- your interest in employment opportunities including with LBN
The survey will be open from May 20 to July 30 and can be accessed online or in paper form.

Community researchers are available to assist in completing and collecting the survey.
PRIZES: Anyone who includes their name will be entered for a chance to win one of 8 IPADS. An IPAD is available to be won in each community (5 IPADS) and in the urban communities (up to 3 IPADs).
Information will be analyzed by the research team, Lake Babine members Evelyn George, Betty Patrick, Monty Palmantier, and Firelight Research Inc. to inform the Human Resources Strategy.
The Human Resource Strategy’s Steering Committee will also review the key findings to identify and clarify LBN’s goals and capacity building priorities, and to outline short, medium, and long-term actions LBN can take to capitalize on Foundation Agreement opportunities.
